Is it just me or does the Monday after Thanksgiving blow more than usual?

Even if you aren't a baseball fan, you have to appreciate the way this regular season played out last night.

-Boston has a 9-1/2 game lead coming into September
-Atlanta has a 10-1/2 game lead in the last week in August.

Both succumb to monumental letdowns, and both lose their playoff spots on the last day of the season!!!

The Rays glorious night was a little more dramatic, being down 7-0 and winning in 12 with a walk off homer
by Longoria (his 2nd of the night)...nevermind that the Red Sox had a lead going into the torrential downpour, only to lose in the
9th after the storm; at the hands of their super-closer Papelbon...

I'm sure the Braves/Cardinal night was equally magical...but I didn't watch that one unfold...

either way...

twas the greatest night in baseball...Period.

Ok so Ervin Santana throws a no-hitter today for the Angels against the Cleveland Indians...

Am I impressed? Sure.  Hell, I have him on my Fantasy Baseball team; I've sat him at times, and just this week decided to put
him in to replace Bartolo Colon.

Good move, right?

I give him all the credit and props in the world, and he deserves it.

But who the hell came up with the term, "NoNo" to describe a no hitter that still produced base runners and a run for the Tribe?

I get the 1st No...what does the 2nd No refer too??

no show (by the opposing team)
no doubt (a great game)
no one else gets to pitch?
no body knows...

I used to think a NoNo was no hits and no baserunners...I was quickly and assuredly corrected by all baseball scholars, that is called a
"perfect game"...27 up 27 down...

so, here I am, still wondering why a no-hitter is called a "no-no"...

I could see a no-no being no hits and no runs....but Cleveland scored today, and the sports junkies are still calling it a "no-no"...

why, damn it?
